Great food doesn’t have to have 30 ingredients to taste spectacular. This Salt and Pepper Steak recipe is just one of those recipes. It’s inexpensive, versatile and packs some amazing taste. It cooks very quickly so it’s perfect for grilling on any weekday for a taste of the weekend.
Possible Uses:
- Tacos: Saute onions and add crushed red pepper flakes to a cast iron without oil, this will allow it to get smoky, then add the day after skirt steak and cook to crispy perfection.
- Salad: Over a bed of your favorite greens lay a few cold slices of steak, add sliced parmesan cheese, and a few drops of olive oil, and a squeeze of lemon.
- Sandwich: On a nice piece of toasted bread spread a flavored mayo, sun-dried tomatoes, thinly sliced red onion and cilantro.
- 1 1/2 pounds skirt steak
- kosher salt
- fresh ground black pepper
Step 1
Season liberally with the salt and pepper.
Step 2
Grill over medium-high heat, until it has achieved a medium-rare, this will take about 4 minutes per side.
Step 3
Allow resting 5 minutes before you slice thin and against the grain.
