Smoky Glaze Asparagus is a phenomenal side dish. It is coated with a mayonnaise marinade and when it is grilled it blisters wonderfully and forms an excellent crust. Note this is excellent on broccoli and fennel.
Smoky Glaze Asparagus

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup mayo
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1 garlic clove, crushed
- 1 tablespoon sweet smoked paprika
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 pound thick asparagus, peeled
Instructions
- Light your grill.
- In a shallow baking dish, whisk the mayonnaise with the oil, lemon juice, garlic, paprika, salt and cumin. Add the asparagus and toss to coat completely.
- Allow the asparagus to stand for 30 minutes.
- Grill the asparagus over a medium-high heat. Turn regularly. Allow to cook until tender, and has blistered in spots. This should take about 6 minutes.
