Crock Pot French Dip
We love our crock pot here at the Marinate Me Baby Test Kitchen. I feel it makes perfect meals almost 98% of the time. I recently made Crock Pot French Dips and folks, they were fantastic! If your family loves roast beef sandwiches in any form, this will be an over night success.
The ingredients are pretty straight forward. I suggest that you purchase a roast when it is on sale, since it can be a little pricey. I also purchase my roast at the super mega-marts like Costco and Sam’s Club. Either way you go, this will cost you way less than going to your local sandwich shop.
Additionally, you control what goes into your sandwich. Most of the items in this recipe you can pick up at the local grocery store, and I would dare bet you have in your pantry/fridge.
- 4 pounds beef roast
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 medium onion quartered
- 1 tablespoon rosemary
- 3 bay leaves
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 6 cups water
- 8 sub rolls
- bell peppers
- onions
- cheese (optional)
- Place the roast in your slow cooker.
- Place the rosemary and bay leaves in a cheese cloth and make a bag, and tie it with some kitchen twine/string and add this to the slow cooker
- Add the remaining ingredients to the slow cooker and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours
- After cooking time is over, remove the bay leaves and rosemary and discard.
- Remove the beef and using the Meet Rake or your hands shred the beef.
- Strain the cooking juices and serve as the Au Jus.
- Return everything to the crock pot and place on the warm setting and serve.
- This really is heavenly when you sauté extra onions and peppers and top with cheese to the sandwich.
