About this Recipe

This Perfect Peach Sweet Tea recipe is one of the most amazing drinks on the face of the planet, hands down.

Perfect summer nights.

To get the best results, the peaches you use for brewing process need to be super ripe. Fresh peaches that are more firm are not the ones you want. The peach needs to almost yield under the pressure of your thumb as you press on the flesh.

Utah has a lot of great peaches. I can usually source them at a relatives house. However, I did have to go to Brigham City, Utah to get this batch. If you have never been, you should check ou their annual Peach Days event. Great Fun!

Simple Syrup

  • 1 cup of cane sugar
  • 1 cup of filtered water
  • 2 ripe peaches, thinly sliced, plus more for serving

Tea

  • 2-3 tablespoon loose leaf black tea (3-4 tea bags)
  • 8 cups of filtered water

Step 1

In a small saucepan bring the sugar, water, and peaches to a boil. Then lower the heat and use a wooden spoon to stir. Using the spoon to crush the peaches on the side of the pan to infuse flavor.

Step 2

Once the sugar has dissolved, cover, and remove from the heat and allow to steep for 30 minutes.

Step 3

In the meantime, brew your tea using a large pot.

Step 4

Once the tea has completed brewing, remove the tea bags or strain out the loose leaf tea and transfer to a pitcher. Place in the refrigerator to cool.

Step 5

Once your simple syrup is finished, pour into a bottle or container through a fine-mesh strainer to strain out the peach pulp.

Step 6

To serve, add all the simple syrup to the tea and stir. Serve the tea over ice and fresh sliced peaches.
