Smoky Glaze Asparagus is a phenomenal side dish. It is coated with a mayonnaise marinade and when it is grilled it blisters wonderfully and forms an excellent crust. Note this is excellent on broccoli and fennel.

Ingredients
  1. 1/2 cup mayo
  2. 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  3. 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  4. 1 garlic clove, crushed
  5. 1 tablespoon sweet smoked paprika
  6. 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  7. 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  8. 1 pound thick asparagus, peeled
Instructions
  1. Light your grill.
  2. In a shallow baking dish, whisk the mayonnaise with the oil, lemon juice, garlic, paprika, salt and cumin. Add the asparagus and toss to coat completely.
  3. Allow the asparagus to stand for 30 minutes.
  4. Grill the asparagus over a medium-high heat. Turn regularly. Allow to cook until tender, and has blistered in spots. This should take about 6 minutes.
