Coffee Rub

Do you love beef?  Beef in all of its greatness?  Me too.  I am particularly fond of short ribs, brisket and rib eye stakes.  The fatty nature of the product and the different cooking methods all lend well to a heavy spice rub in my opinion.

Coffee-Rubed-Ribeye1

My journey for a great rub has taken me to many a steak joint.  In my journey of the ‘perfect steak’, I settled upon a favorite.  When I was presented with my first coffee rubbed rib eye steak I was a bit cautious; I had never had a steak rubbed with coffee.  With a generous coating and a cook in a cast iron skillet to ensure the spice rub adheres to the steak, it is seriously one of the best things on the planet.

This rub is also fantastic with brisket that is slowly smoked over hickory or mesquite wood for hours.  The flavors hold up quite nice, and if you’re serving this for a party you will not be disappointed.
