Tasty Meat Treats like chicken wings are a fantastic thing at a casual party.  They are bite sized, portable and a vessel for carrying amazing flavors to your mouth.   When you are hosting a party, you want your guests to be satisfied, yet able to try additional offerings on your Buffett line.  Having a chicken wing casual party for the big game is a perfect concept.

The best part of a great party is not tending the food, so having multiple choices for your guests in warming dishes helps you stay out of the kitchen and keeping your guests fed.

This recipe plays on the traditional tastes of the original from Buffalo, with out compromising its own unique characteristics with the Canadian Whisky.  Note, you can add butter if you would like a more velvety mouth feel.  However we feel this is achieved with the addition of the Whisky.  Note you can substitute Whisky with Pineapple juice if you so desire.

Cook Time 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 16 oz jar hot sauce franks red hot
  • 2 Tablespoons horseradish prepaired
  • 24 chicken wings
  • 2 oz Crown Royal Canadian Whisky

Instructions

  • Wash the chicken wings and pat dry with a paper towel.
  • Cut off and discard the chicken wing tips (these will just burn and there is very little meat). Cut each wing in half at the joint, and preheat your broiler at 400 degrees F.
  • On a cookie sheet/broiler pan line with foil or a silpat. Arrange the chicken wings on the pan, and broil the chicken wings about 6 inches from the heat source for about 15 minutes, turning frequently to keep them from burning.
  • In a medium sauce pan combine your hot sauce, horseradish and Whiskey and bring to a boil.
  • Brush your wing sauce over the wings, turn and brush the other side.
  • Continue to broil and baste the wings for an additional 10 to 15 minutes, removing smaller and flatter wings as they complete cooking as needed. Serve immediately.
