Sweet Champagne Lemonade

It’s Summer Time and it’s time to BBQ!  Do you need a refreshing, yet simple cocktail for your outdoor event?  Here is a fantastic beverage that can made for the Adults in the crowd no matter if they like it with or with out.

This pairs well with chicken, pork and particularly well with hamburgers.  The Arnold Palmer version (see below) can literally change your life.

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 Cups water
  • 1 1/2 Cups fresh lemon juice
  • 1 bottle Champagne or Sparkling Wine ((for a non-leaded version substitute for Ginger ale, Sparkling Apple Cider, Sparkling Cranberry Juice or Sparkling White Grape Juice).)
  • Thin citrus slices (for garnish)

This version can be turned into an Arnold Palmer version. Just substitute 2 of the cups of water with your favorite tea. The Sweet Simple syrup will provide enough sweet for the tea and lemonade.

Step 1
In a small saucepan, put your sugar and 1 cup of water and bring it to a boil. Allow to cook for 1 minute to allow all the sugar to dissolve. Turn off the heat, and allow the sugar syrup to cool completely.
Step 2
In a large picture, combine the cooled sugar syrup and the lemon juice and the remaining 2 cups of water and mix completely.
Step 3
To serve, fill a Champagne flute halfway with the lemonade and top with the Champagne (or substitute). Garnish with one lemon slice.
