Yes, we are serious – please sit back down. Try this 5 Minute Citrus Marinade!

I think it’s time that we show you that with a few simple ingredients, you two can make a marinade that will impress your girlfriend – and save you ton’s of money at the grocery checkout. Many of these ingredients you already have in your pantry.

5 Minute Citrus Marinade

  • 2 Cloves garlic (large)
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 3 Tablespoons dark brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 Tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice (fresh)
  • 1/4 cup orange juice (fresh, or you can substitute lime juice)
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoons lemon zest (fresh, grated)
  • 1 bunch cilantro (finely chopped)


Step 1
Slice your garlic in thin slices and place in a medium saucepan in the oil over moderate or low heat. Cook until the garlic just begins to turn a golden color. Remove from heat and using a slotted spoon remove and discard the garlic.
Step 2
In your garlic infused oil add the remaining ingredients with salt and pepper to taste and cool.
Step 3
Use this marinade over vegetables, seafood, chicken, pork and beef.
