I think it’s time that we show you that with a few simple ingredients, you two can make a marinade that will impress your girlfriend – and save you ton’s of money at the grocery checkout. Many of these ingredients you already have in your pantry.
In all seriousness. You will enjoy this recipe, it’s fantastic on seafood, chicken, pork and beef. Check out our post on marinating/brining times for the different proteins and you will be a rockstar!
5 Minute Citrus Marinade
- 2 Cloves garlic (large)
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 3 Tablespoons dark brown sugar (packed)
- 2 Tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 1 1/2 Teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup lemon juice (fresh)
- 1/4 cup orange juice (fresh, or you can substitute lime juice)
- 1 1/2 Teaspoons lemon zest (fresh, grated)
- 1 bunch cilantro (finely chopped)
|Slice your garlic in thin slices and place in a medium saucepan in the oil over moderate or low heat. Cook until the garlic just begins to turn a golden color. Remove from heat and using a slotted spoon remove and discard the garlic. |
|In your garlic infused oil add the remaining ingredients with salt and pepper to taste and cool. |
|Use this marinade over vegetables, seafood, chicken, pork and beef. |
