This recipe can be prepared with either flank or skirt steak. I first saw this recipe on Guy Fieri’s show – Guys’ Big Bite. I have stuck pretty close to his recipe and found it to be very easy to follow and it produces some amazing results.

  • 1 cup vegetable juice
  • 1/2 cup vodka
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon garlic (crushed)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
  • 4 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 1lb flank steak

Flank Steak can be substituted with Skirt Steak. Either are delicious!

Step 1
In a 1 gallon zip-type plastic bag combine all ingredients except for the flank steak. Shake to incorporate completely.
Step 2
Add the flank steak, and place win the refrigerator to allow it to marinate over night. At least 8 hours - no more than 24.
Step 3
Preheat your grill to high.
Step 4
Remove the flank steak from the marinade and pat with kitchen paper to remove the excess liquid off the steak - this will promote grill marks and the crunchy crust. Grill both sides, and then lower your heat to medium and allow to cook until medium rare.
Step 5
Remove from the fire, and place the flank steaks on a serving plate. Cover the steaks with a clean towel and allow them to rest for 10 minutes. When ready to serve, cut the steaks on a bias against the grand for tender steak and serve!
